About Cold Nose Productions & Kathy Mack

Kathy Mack is the founder and owner of Cold Nose Productions. Kathy began painting furniture in 1995 after she struggled to find interesting and fun furniture pieces for her son's room. Family and friends clamored for their own "Kathy Mack Originals" - thus, a cottage industry was born!

Kathy painted much of her furniture in her kitchen while in the company of her black lab, Abby. Abby was quite the inquisitive companion and would often push her nose right into the paint, causing Kathy to spend much time cleaning dog hair out of her work. When it came time for opening a store all her own, Kathy thought it made perfect sense to name it "Cold Nose Productions."

Over the years Kathy has been fortunate to meet and befriend many talented artisans. It made sense that Cold Nose Productions would feature not only Kathy's work, but the work of other inspiring artists. When Kathy is not painting away in her studio, she can be found walking the beach looking for Petoskey stones and other gifts from nature, preparing for a marathon, or spending time with her charming son Colin.
